On May 2, 2019, GMAD Mentees had the opportunity to tour the campuses of Queens University and Johnson C. Smith University. The college tours were very informative and Mentees were engaged in conversation with their tour guides regarding GPA needed, SAT and ACT score required, study abroad programs available, scholarships available, and courses of study offered. The students were treated lunch by one of our GMAD Mentors. Additional College tours are being planned for late August and September to the Raleigh, Greensboro, and Winston Salem Area.

One of our Mentors took her Mentee to visit, North Carolina State, UNC-Chapel Hill and Meredith College. This student is planning to major in Veterinary Science.

We are very excited to announce that three of our GMAD Mentees have been selected to participate in the Project Uplift summer enrichment and college access program at UNC-Chapel Hill, sponsored by the University Office for Diversity and Inclusion. This program is designed to promote and increase access to higher education for all outstanding students, especially those underrepresented in post-secondary education. During this two-day experience, Project Uplift participants live on Carolina's campus interacting with faculty, staff and current students , participating in educational, cultural and social activities. Congratulations to Sintya, Camilla and Kelly.
