Stephanie CountsStephanie Counts, Founding CEO and Vision Keeper of Women’s Inter-Cultural Exchange (WIE). In 2005 she Co-Founded WIE, an award-winning non-profit organization whose goal is to build and bridge social capital among women of diverse cultures with outstanding multicultural programming and the distinction of being the only organization of its kind in the region. Ms. Counts is also President, Counts & Co. a strategic consulting firm providing creative solutions to profit and non-profit businesses.

Stephanie received a BS State University of New York and MBA, UNC-Charlotte.

As a national and local educational leader and consultant she developed and served as Asst. Superintendent of the “World Class” magnet school programs for CMS, served as White House Consultant and Author on Public School Choice and led many US school districts in their re-engineering efforts. She has also served as CEO YWCA Central Carolinas.

Mrs. Counts has continually given of her talents to the community. Highlights include World Service Council-Secretary, Board of Trustees UNC-Charlotte, Board of Advisors or Trustee to NC Women’s Conference, UNC-TV, Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, Mint Museum, Public Arts Commission, Urban League, WFAE, Mecklenburg Citizens for Public Education and Chair, United Way’s African American Leadership Initiative. She is a member of Charlotte Chapter of Links Inc. and Women Executives.

Stephanie’s honors and awards are numerous and include National and NC Distinguished Principal, Distinguished Alumnus UNC–Charlotte, Spirit Square Spirit Award, Order of the Long Leaf Pine by Governor James Martin, 2005 Charlotte Business Journal (CBJ) Diversity in Business Award, 2008 CBJ Women in Business Achievement Award, 2009 50 Most Influential Charlotte Women, Mecklenburg Times and the Maya Angelo- Women Who Lead Award.
